One World, One Heart!

Again this year I will be participating in One World, One Heart, an incredible magic carpet ride through blogs by folks around the world!  Each blog listed on the OWOH site, which can be accessed by clicking on the icon to the right, will be offering a give-away.  More importantly, you will get a glimpse into the lives and passions of hundreds of people you might never have met before!  Last year I made it my mission to visit each and every blog, and although I did not comment on every one, I did peek at the essence of each blogger, which was truly fascinating.

This year I am giving away three items.  The first is a necklace with one of my soldered charms, which says "escape" on the back side.
The second is a collage
pressed between two pieces of glass, 5 X 7 inches,  which I call praying for you.

The third is another collage, 8 X 10,
again soldered between two pieces of glass, which I call innocence.

If you'd like to have the chance to win one of these items, just leave a comment on this post with your email address, please.  The carpet ride ends on February 15th!  Join the fun!

Regular or extra crispy?

I saw this little guy enjoying lunch and had to share.  I didn't know squirrels would do this!  Click on the picture to make it larger.

We saw that squirrel on  our way up to Tampa to celebrate my youngest daughter's birthday.  We had a lovely time, and I saw my first rugby game!  I need to learn more about it - it was fascinating!  Happy birthday, Natalie!

My favorite field trip....

is to Manatee Park in January.  This particular January HAD to be spectacular - manatee come in from the gulf to the warm brackish waters near the power plant.  I have never seen so many!  Just to walk along the path, listening to them exhale as they come up for air, was so amazing.

The "bumps" of the backs of those floating near the top, the mother near the seawall nursing her two babies, even the tail severely damaged by a boat rotor - all were so miraculous to see.  What a privilege!
Remember, you can click on any image to see it larger!

A little late on posting this photo.....and I'm not sure I am done with these...some cry out for dripping wax, lustrous paints, or some more embellishments, so we'll see.......

Snuggle bugs

Brrrrr!  Sophia and I spent more time than we should have snuggled on the couch (after we played with every toy she could find including the dish towel!).....but I don't do that often, so I give myself permission to be lazy!  Housework can always be done today!

obsessions

At least I know myself - can't stop making these things!  I've been experimenting with the construction technique, to see if there is a faster, better, or easier way to put them together than the first method I tried, so they don't all look the same.  Of course, as life would have it, the first way might just be the best for me!

Fabric flower fun!

After seeing a fabric flower pin worn on the shoulder of a young girl on one of my favorite blogs, I decided to try making one.  Here are the pictures of the four my friend Michele and I made.  Michele made the first and last  one pictured, I made the other two.  My favorite (so far, at least), is the two toned gold one.   I know I will be creating more!
