Time Out from the Hurry, Hurry, Rush, Rush!

Yesterday, Christy Sobolewski and Katie Kelly came over for "art night" - which included food, fun, mess, and three collaged art pieces  - all in 4 1/2 hours!  We each started a piece, then passed it to our left, so that each artist could add to the original piece.  Here are some of the before, during, and after photos, taken with my iPhone:

Our glorious mess!

Katie and Christy!

My before (the part I did before passing it on).
My after - I adore it!  It couldn't be more perfect for me!

Katie's during (her work with mine added).

Katie's after, with Christy's work.

Christy's final.

I want to do it again!

A Privilege....

Listen, I don't often share this mess with the world, so consider yourself privileged to see it.....going from a 17' X 23' studio to my little room has not been easy, but I make it work!  Here you see the mess of journal making......

Okay, and a few other projects I am in the middle of.....stuck in indecision!  I am using the grunge boards for the front and back covers.  Here are a few I have almost ready to bind...

And one of my "piles" (there are several more) of materials for another I have yet to begin....
I'd love to sell them, but honestly don't know if I can handle the time it would take to establish an etsy or ebay site, so they will serve as gifts for now, or I should say, when they are done.
Thanks for visiting me in my "studio"!

Welcome back, Muse!

So many ideas - but life has kept me mentally and physically busy lately, so the ideas were overwhelming rather than motivating.

This weekend I created for the first time in quite a while.  I made a very simple piece, and, with a background already prepped on a discarded hardcover book, a more complicated piece using collage and image transfer.  I LOVE using old magazines and book for image transfers - they work very nicely, especially magazines.  Looks like I may be productive again - I have many more magazines images I want to put to use!

obsessions

At least I know myself - can't stop making these things!  I've been experimenting with the construction technique, to see if there is a faster, better, or easier way to put them together than the first method I tried, so they don't all look the same.  Of course, as life would have it, the first way might just be the best for me!
